Gita has worked as a publicist, a promotion manager, and as the MIT Press’s marketing director with responsibility for worldwide promotion and sales. During her publicity days, she handled campaigns for Paul Krugman, Daniel Dennett, and Slavoj Žižek, among others. Gita currently oversees our book acquisitions and acquires in the areas of Internet studies, communication, and information science. She seeks high impact work on subjects ranging from digital culture to networked communication, privacy, data security, and access to knowledge and information.
